Terra Incognita [[Vivian]]

Name: Terra Incognita
Appearance: When a Shapeshifter changes form, s/he always has an in between form. This is often a fleeting stage, a quick passing through onto the next stage. However, after experience, a Shapeshifter can prolong his/her stay in the in between form. Often a mirror of their nature, Vivian's in between form is that of a pure, hard amber crystal. She can use this both for offense and defense. She can turn parts of her body into crystal to defend from a blow, or turn her parts of her body into spikes to attack her opponents. Her fingers typical grow to about 9 inches long, and narrow sharply into razor fine points. Terra Incognita's first form is capable of only shallow cuts and and piercing stab wounds, which inflicts its magic upon the enemy. Her second form turns her Crysilis into a weapon, hardening her fists and feet to increase her non-lethal damage. Making most of her forms ambidextrous, she can use either hand to fight. Any sharp, cutting weapon formed by this acts as Form 1. Any blunt weapon acts as Form 2.
Effects:
Earthbound - For every successful, damaging, piercing hit inflicted by Terra Incognita, more vulnerabilities are opened and the weapons' Earth magic effects the enemy. The magic weighs down the enemy, causing them to become more and more Earthbound, preventing any aerial maneuvers. This also represents the piercing wounds of Terra Incognita. The Attack Power of future attacks by Terra Incognita is increased by 20, and the rolls of all Attack, Evasion, and Escape dice of the victim are lowered by 1, though the total penalty will never go under a -3. Vivian can end or prevent these effects as she chooses. This move can stack. This only applied in the first form.

Crysilis - The area of her body that is attacked turns into crystal, shielding her from damage. On an unsuccessful defense roll, she may activate this ability to only take half of the damage inflicted. This move nullifies Lightning damage and is ineffective against Wind attacks. Her second form is always in this state.

Mental Strain - No part of her body may be crystal for more than 5 rounds or it is reverted back to normal and cannot turn back into crystal for the duration of the battle.

Piercing - If an Attack roll of Terra Incognito is tied with the Defense roll of the opponent, the hardness and sharpness of of Terra Incognito causes it to pierce the armor, the attack deals half damage and the applies Earthbound. If it does not does make sense for this to happen, it does not. This is only in effect in the first form.

Bludgeoning - In the second stage, she is capable of shattering bones, cracking skulls, and snapping ribs, but her blows do not kill. If the enemy attempts to Defend this move and fails by a margin of 5 or more, she takes advantage of the opening left by the enemy's surprise and strikes hard for double damage, breaking a bone if reasonable and lowering future Defense rolls by 1. The penalty on Defense rolls will never drop below a -3.

Transformation(s): 20 Tsubara per round for each turn sustained. 100 per Crysilis.
History: As Vivian's shapeshifting ability stabilized, she discovered that the duration of her natural in between stage could be extended through practice. With the help of her siblings how had discovered this before her, she was able to learn quickly, and even though she cannot maintain it for long, she can still use it as a powerful and effective weapon in combat. It has proved a valuable asset in her journeys since leaving home.

She was quick to adopt the Martial Arts of her homeland, and has adapted it with each new expose to new forms of Martial Arts. Her current form currently resembles more of Mixed Martial Arts than traditional.

Earthbound could stack indefinitely, so that is too strong, please limit it to only subtracting 1 for attack, evade, and escape, or maybe 2 for evade since it limit movement. also, what do you mean by "The maximum that can be obtained by the Escape dice can never drop lower than 9"

On Crysilis, does "This move nullifies Lightning damage and is ineffective against Wind attacks" mean that lightning and wind is innefective, or what? And also, if you could half damage any time you wanted it is going to need a cost of about 100 instead of 25.

and lastly, does Bludgeoning stack?

On Earthbound, that means that it will never lower the maximum of the Escape to lower than 9. I can change that. Maybe no more than a -3 penalty total?

On Crysilis, since Lighting > Earth > Wind, is absorbs all of a Lightning attack, but does nothing to block Wind attacks. I can raise it.

It can, though I can limit that to a -3 as well.

but if the cost increased by 50-100 with every blow for the 3 times, then maybe that would work to go the -3.

What if I can pay an extra 75 on a successful hit to apply it up to a total of 3 times? You have to remember, that the weapon has really **** AP for a hunter's weapon. This is meant to be more of a Defensive character who works much better with a partner or ally.
