Name: Nodagon (Soaring Dragon)

Appearance:
Soaring Dragon (Nodagon) and Raging Pheonix (Furor Ignis) [Sylph's Twin Gunblades] Gunblade
Nodagon and Furor Ignis are twin blades in their structure. It consists of a sword handle that is slightly curved at the bottom and with a grip reminiscent of a handgun's to make it so that it can be held like a gun. A tassel (which is actually an accessory *will be created officially in the equipment area*) is connected to the bottom the handle by a chain, and the handle includes a trigger and trigger guard, so that the sword can also be fired like a gun. Each one has a large, glass like stone between the end of the grip and the firing chamber, which is similar to a revolver's. The actual gun barrel travels seven or eight inches past the firing chamber, along the blade. In the center of the first nine inches or so of the sword lies a symbol. In Nodagon it is a crescent moon with a line going to the center. The blade itself is effective and lethal, but almost ornamental in apperance, consisting of various dips and crescents meant for trapping and breaking blades, with a long part of the blade at the beginning that curves back and around to act as a hand guard. In Nodagon, the hilt is white, with the grip being a dark shade of blue. The chain on which the tassel is held is white, and the tassel itself is in fact two shades of blue, being dark blue starting closer to the chain and fading to a lighter blue at the tassel's tip. The glass stone is clear blue, and the trigger, trigger guard, hammer and firing chamber are all a dark silvery gray. The symbol on the sword is white, and the first nine or so inches of the blade are navy blue on the inside and white on the outside edge. As the sword reaches its tenth inch, it begins to gradually change, and by the end of the first foot, the color scheme is reversed, the inside of the blade being white and the outside being navy blue.

Effects:
1) Parting the Wind- Although Sylph can not control it directly, Nodagon sword seems to be naturally attuned to the element of wind. Being that it is a weapon of the wind, it would, obviously, have a greater ability to block attacks based around the wind element. When a wind attack is blocked by this sword, the attack would seem, right before it hits the blade, to part, splitting into two streams, as if the blade itself had sliced the stream in half. While this DOES NOT stop the attack completely, it does reduce the momentum of most wind-based attacks. Thus, while defending against any attack that has wind as its primary element, the attack roll roll of the opposing character is reduced by 2, and Sylph's defense roll is increased by 1. If the attack is a secondary element or teritarry element that includes wind, the attack roll is only decreased by 1.

2) One With The Wind- Once again, although Sylph can not control it directly, being that it is not his element, Nodagon seems to be attuned to the wind element, and is almost always exuding wind energy, which, to a degree, suffuses Sylph's body while the sword is held/ This has several effects. First of all, with every jump, a small burst of wind flares up underneath his feet, propelling three or four feet higher than a normal jump would. The wind energy also releases small bursts under his feet while he runs, increasing his running speed slightly. As a result of this, his speed and ability to avoid attacks is somewhat greater than a normal person's. Thus, while Nodagon is held, Sylph's speed and evade rolls are increased by 1 for each turn during a battle.

History: During his several years with the Stirae guild in Seraphim, Sylph performed many important missions in the interest of bringing equality to his race. Most of these missions ranged from bringing starving families food, to capture and interrogation of suspected traitors. However, the one mission that resulted in his having to leave Virgil was a relatively simple one for one of his talents. He was simply to sneak inside of a noble suspected of being a spy's home, and attempt to recover any information that he could about his activities in the lower city. While exploring the noble's home, Sylph came across a large hall, perhaps to be used as a chapel for private religious service. He lock-picked his way in, as the door was very firmly secured. Inside, at the very back of the room, Sylph saw an altar. He went to investigate, originally thinking that it was a religious altar. However, upon coming closer, he realized that the altar in fact cradled a pair of twin weapons, gunblades, by the look of them. They appeared to be handcrafted, most likely heirlooms. His curiosity got the better of him and so he stole the weapons, thinking perhaps to some day return them. Unfortunately that opportunity never came. The next day he was guilty of murder of a noble and fled Virgil. He has kept them ever since then, relying on them as companions in battle. One day he may return them to the city; after that is, he has liberated Virgil from the insipid poison that is corrupting it. (Note: since he got them at the same time, the history will be the same for both.)

In Furor Ignis, the handle is black, the grip being a dark gray color that almost blends in with the handle, though not quite. The chain holding the tassel is a bright, bloody red, and the tassel itself is night black at the top, fading down into a crimson red at the tip of the tassel. The glassy stone is a solid, silvery gray color, like opal. The trigger, trigger guard, hammer and firing chamber are all dark red. The symbol on the sword is a bright blood red, and the first nine or so inches of the blade are black on the inside and wine red on the outside edge. The symbol is a full circle with a line slashing through it horizontally. As the sword reaches its tenth inch, it begins to gradually change, and by the end of the first foot, the color scheme is reversed, the inside of the blade being wine red and the outside being raven black.

Effects:
1) Parting the Flames- This ability is almost the same as Nodagon's "Parting the Winds" ability. Obviously, Furor Ignis is attuned towards the fire element. As a weapon that is fire based, it has a more potent ability to block fire based techniqes. Like Nodagon, upon contact with the blade, a fire technique will seem to part, as if the blade was cutting the flame in half. Once again, this DOES NOT stop the technique completely, or, in fire's case, lower the heat of the flame very much. However, it does lower the attack's heat some, and the momentum as well of most fire based attacks. Thus, whenever a fire type attack is blocked by Furor Ignis, the attack roll of the opposing character is lowered by 2, and the defense roll for Sylph is increased by one. However, if the attack is a secondary or teritiarry element that is fire based, the attack roll is only decreased by one.

2) Thermal Imaging- While Nodagon can be used to launch fire attacks, since it is not particularly well attuned to fire, it does not provide any amplification or special effects when fire based attacks are launched. However, Furor Ignis is fire attuned, and actually possesses a rather unique special effect. When a fire techniqe is launched by Furor Ignis, the sword glows red, indicating that the ability is in effect. The sword actually has the ability to, for a short amount of time, detect the body heat signiture(s) of the enemy(ies) that are being targeted by the techniques. The effect only lasts a short time, about a maximum of two minutes, but allows the technique to follow the target for a short time, increasing the chance that he or she will be hit by the attack. Therefore, whenever a fire or fire based technique is launched by Furor Ignis, for the next turn, Sylph's attack roll is increased by 2.
