In the soft grass beside the Main School Building, Ran had just been released from class with the assignment given to her of practicing her Ki control. She went straight to it, finding a place outside to relax and train her Ki control. She spent an hour in pursuit of accomplishing her goal of even slightly increasing her control, but it didn't go too well and she continued to remain at the same level. Eventually, she rested and fell back into grass. "Hmm? For some reason I can't seem to master my Ki control. Maybe I could do better if I had someone to fight against."

IC: Hinata walked up to the lone girl to see what she was doing. At this moment, Hinata had nothing to do but wander around although she did want to train herself so that she could be stronger. "Hey there. My name is Hinata. Who are you?"

Ran smiled as she walked up to the girl who had just introduced herself as Hinata. She had an idea when this girl appeared and realized that if Hinata was up to it, the two of them could battle each other and train. This was perfect for Ran because that meant that she could try to master her Ki control.
"Hello there Hinata. My name is Ran Yamamoto. Pleased to meet you." Ran gave Hinata a big and friendly smile. "I know this is really sudden since we just met, but would it be okay if you and I were to battle. I'm in a martial arts class here at this school and I need to increase my control over my Ki. Is this fine?"

Ran smiled as she saw Hinata accept her request. Ran decided that she would start as she pulled out her Water Scar blade to begin the fight. Ran stalled for a moment, trying to decide the best way to attack. She saw no weapons, no armor, nothing that would give Ran a reason to stay distant. I should be careful. I know nothing about this person besides her name, and I think that caution would be my best bet right now. I'll try staying at a distance. Ran gathered water energy into her sword until the sword itself became blue from the liquid. As this happened, her armor glowed bright. Now, due to the armor, all elemental attacks used on Ran will have their attack power reduced by half. Also the blade in her hand increases the dice roll of her techniques by 2.

Hinata focused carefully on her opponent Ran. At first, Hinata assumed that Ran was a close ranged fighter , which would allow her to use her Juuken techniques, but now she noticed that Ran could also attack from a distance as well. Hinata saw this as a good way to use her techniques. While in thought, she saw an attack resembling a water torpedo flying towards her. With a few quick hand signs, Hinata's eyes flashed and the veins became more visible. Also, the white pupil of her eyes, which are usually nearly impossible to see, are now more defined and visible. "BYAKUGAN!!" This was Hinata's signature ability, the Byakugan. She could now see the trails within Ran's body that connected her flow of elemental energy. Luckily for Hinata, Ran had plenty of them. She knew that the incoming attacks were first priority before attacking, so she began to spin around faster and faster while emitting Tsukara from her hands. This technique, the Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation, would be used to redirect the incoming attack back at the opponent with force equivalent to the rotation and Tsukara placed within the technique. As she spun, the ground around her began to become crushed by the force and pressure of the technique. Hinata was planning on this technique successfully countering the technique.

Ran was struck by her own technique, but luckily for her she was still fairly safe due to her Imperiyama Armor that she wore which cut the power of elemental based techniques by half. Though the attack still did hurt, Ran recovered quickly and decided that she would need to do more. It was apparent to her that her opponent Hinata wasn't a common fighter. She also wondered what was going on with her eyes. Somehow, they seemed much different from before. They were both hypnotic to an extent while also intimidating. "I must continue. I think that today I can feel myself winning this battle. An energy inside of me seems to be getting more powerful. Perhaps its my ki." Ran shook a bit, starting to feel nervous about the battle and about her ki. She worried for a second that it might not be what she expected but her worry soon turned to motivation as she built up energy in her arms that she held her sword in. She was preparing for her next attack, her Trailing Terrain technique. Slamming the sword into the dirt, she swung twice from both sides, watching as the ground crumbled as the trail made its way to Hinata.

In an instant, Hinata lost her focus, and for that split second that she did, she was hit back a few feet by the force of Ran's two attack. In terms of her health, Hinata felt fine, but her Tsukara was a different story. Surprisingly, she couldn't release as much of her own Tsukara as usual which made her worried. In a way, she felt as though she would lose the fight but then she realized that she needed a little hope. Her eyes seemed to pierce through anything when she suddenly heard Ran say that she can see herself winning the battle. She tried to ignore as she ran towards Ran attempted to use one of her best techniques: Eight Trigrams, Sixty Four Palms of The Hand. She knew that this would work only once because of quickly depleted Tsukara, but she had confidence that her strikes would connect. "Eight Trigrams!! Sixty Four Palms!!" She also prepared herself to use the Air Palm once the Sixty Four Palms technique was completed whether she struck or not.

Ran was surprised that Hinata would decide to move so close for a technique, but then she took a good look at her eyes and realized that this attack seemed more serious than any other that she had ever seen. She realized that Hinata planned on using this technique to take her down. It moved too fast for her to dodge, and as a result Ran took the 64 palms. Originally, Ran had planned on using her earth technique to block and counter Hinata, but she felt herself become discharged by the technique and this kept her from being able to use any of her elemental techniques, which were all of them. Somehow, Ran still felt like she could win. While still at a close range with Hinata, she pulled back her Water Scar Blade and prepared to attack with her Terraforming Slam technique, which was her most basic move. "This is almost over. I can sense it."

OOC: Is it too late for me to jump in? I have been gone for a while...

OOC: Afraid so. Check out Hinata's Tsukara. This battle is pretty much over unless she has items. No offense Riko

OOC: Oh well, next time, I guess?

OOC: Your right. I can't win this one.

IC: Hinata was struck by the twin sword strikes and fell to her knees. She had a little bit of Tsukara but realized that she couldn't win this battle with the limited amount that she had left. She decided to forfeit. Although it seemed like giving up too soon, it was actually the smart thing to do since she had no other options. "I apologize, but I must forfeit. It appears that I've reached my limit." Hinata realized that even with all of her prior training, the difference in power between herself and other yellow ranked warriors was great. She could only imagine how powerful other higher ranked students at the school were. "This was a great battle, but I think that I should be heading to the hospital now to get myself healed."

Ran put away her sword and approached. She was happy that she was able to have such a good battle, and she believed that this battle was great for her Ki training. She felt that with a little more training, she could open up her flow of ki and soon begin to master her control it. "Uh, would you mind if I come with you? I'm uh...well, I'm still a little hurt from the battle and I think that I should get checked up a bit in order to prepare for the next battle that I may have."
